Update 3

12:58 p.m. Liquid Pleasure is entertaining the crowd outside of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union with a sultry blend of old soul and hip-hop songs. Despite animated renditions of “Brick House,” “Soul Man,” “Baby Got Back,” and “Hot in Herre,” the crowd is reserved. The dance floor is lined with spectators captivated by the performance, yet unwilling to follow the directives in the lyrics. Perhaps it is a good to keep it professional during Employee Appreciation Day.

1:07 p.m. The dancing starts to heat up with a cover of V.I.C.’s “Wobble.”

1:50 p.m. The departmental fair begins to wind down and many employees leave to return to their work sites. Justin Hubbard, assistant program manager at World View, describes the atmosphere of the event, “This is my first Employee Appreciation Day at Carolina. I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a fun community event with great food.”

He added, “Besides, look at all the stuff I got!”
