Employee Forum holds retreat to kick off academic year

Under the leadership of Chair Charles Streeter, the Employee Forum retreated for the day on Wednesday, July 13 to the Friday Center in order to learn from campus partners, set goals for the year, and discuss current issues like ethics and phishing. Read more in the University Gazette.

5 ways to stay connected to the Employee Forum

1. Attend Forum Meetings. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 9:15 – 11:30 am in the Stone Center Hitchcock Multipurpose Room. Get involved with the Community Service Committee

Carolina Campus Community Garden sees consistent volunteers, despite heat

Volunteers continue to help with weeding, mulching, planting, fertilizing, watering, harvesting, and turning compost through the current heat wave. 

The garden is currently open for volunteers several times each week. Check their website for the most up-to-date schedule.

Permanent SHRA employees will see 1.5% raise in August 5 paycheck

The legislative salary increase is calculated on the June 30, 2016 base salary. Permanent full-time, part-time and time-limited employees are eligible without regard to performance rating or active disciplinary action. Guidance for distributing one-time bonus payment (0.5%) and merit bonuses have not been released from the Office of State Human Resources and UNC General Administration.

Guidance for EHRA employees has not yet been released but is expected in August. Contact your Human Resources Representative for more information.

Take Action on State Health Plan premium credits

As the State Health Plan gears up for the 2017 open enrollment period (Oct. 1-31), plan participants may take action now to complete the health assessment premium credit activity for 2017. 80/20 and Consumer Directed Health Plan (CDHP) members will receive a wellness premium credit for 2017 by completing the health assessment between now and the end of the annual enrollment period. Members are encouraged to complete this premium credit as soon as possible, and can access the health assessment by logging in to the My Personal Health Portal on the State Health Plan’s website.

The Marian Cheek Jackson Center needs volunteers to make an impact in Chapel Hill's historic Northside neighborhood. Food for the Summer seeks supplies/volunteers
