The 2016 recipients of the Carolina Family Scholarship include:
- Brittany Blake is a first-year student from Snow Camp who will attend UNC-Charlotte.
- Natalie Charamut, a third-year student from Mebane, continues her studies at UNC-Chapel Hill.
- Thomas Elliot is a second-year student at UNC-Chapel Hill. He hails from Chapel Hill.
- Zoe Gonzalez attends her third year at UNC-Greensboro. She is from Mebane.
- Jordan Gray begins her first year of college at UNC-Greensboro. She is from Burlington.
- A resident of Chapel Hill, Ye Htet will attend her second year at NC State University.
- Hannah Mathews will venture from her hometown of Chapel Hill to her first year at UNC-Asheville.
- A Chapel Hill resident, June Seo Nam returns to her second year at UNC-Greensboro.
- Katherine Stegenga will enter her first year at Appalachian State University.
- A fourth year student at Elizabeth City State University, Jonathan Stroud hails from Apex.
