About the Current Chair of the Forum
Jackie Overton was elected Chair of the Employee Forum on June 2, 2010. She currently works in the Department of Public Safety where she supervises and trains UNC employees. She grew up in Hertford, North Carolina and went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in African-American Studies. She enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Education and Counseling and began her professional career at UNC-CH in the Department of Public Safety where she was later promoted. The university has benefited from her years of continual service for nearly three decades.

Chair of the Employee Forum, Jackie Overton, was invited again to speak at University Day and continues the tradition of speaking with passion and inspiration about the university and the staff who support it.
