Concerning Staff Representation on the Board of Trustees
RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM
THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL
February 6, 2002
WHEREAS, the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of the Employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and
WHEREAS the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has a long and great tradition of consultative governance; and
WHEREAS the members of the staff have an important and long-term interest in the well-being and future direction of the University; and
WHEREAS the members of the staff devote their intellectual, physical, spiritual and temporal energies to support and improve the teaching, scholarship and service functions that enable the University to carry out its mission to the State; and
WHEREAS the members of the staff have valuable perspectives, information, and insight that will be beneficial to sound governance and deliberation;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Employee Forum calls upon the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to provide for a seat and voice on the Board of Trustees for the Chair of the Forum.
