Honoring Mary Ann Vacheron, Chair of the Personnel Issues Committee
RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM
THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL
August 6, 2003
WHEREAS, the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of the Employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and
WHEREAS, these concerns include the recognition of individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the University community, so as to encourage similar achievement among the remainder of the community’s members; and
WHEREAS, an individual among us has distinguished herself by persistence and devotion to duty as Chair of the Personnel Issues committee for two years, one of those as Forum first alternate, as well as serving on the Forum’s Executive Committee; and
WHEREAS, this individual’s leadership “positively reinvigorated” the Forum Personnel Issues committee in 2001, completing “a wide-ranging study of campus personnel issues that included interviews with Laurie Charest, Carolyn Elfland, Nancy Suttenfield and Human Resources senior staff in what constituted one of the most wide-reaching dialogues between employees and senior administrators ever held on this campus”;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Employee Forum extends its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Mary Ann Vacheron as she enters her retirement.
