Honoring Rachel Windham, 1995 Chair of the Employee Forum

RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM

THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL

November 5, 2003

            WHEREAS, the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of the Employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and

WHEREAS, these concerns include the recognition of individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the University community, so as to encourage similar achievement among the remainder of the community’s members; and

WHEREAS, an individual among us has distinguished herself through her intelligence, persistence and devotion to duty as Chair of the Employee Forum during its third year of existence; and

WHEREAS, this individual advanced the recognition of the Forum during her time as Chair, most notably through her stirring University Day remarks; and

WHEREAS, this individual helped establish and broaden the Forum’s reputation among University Employees and campus administrators by her integrity, wit, common sense, and dedication to the work of the Forum and the University; and

WHEREAS, such recognition is necessary and appropriate

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Employee Forum extends its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Rachel Windham as she enters her retirement; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, while the Forum cannot today present Windham with honorary delegate status this year due to previous recognition of 1993 Chair Kay Hovious, the 2003 Forum recommends to its 2004 counterpart that it award Windham this recognition in the 2004 calendar year.
