Resolution 17-02. Honoring Gena Carter
RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM
THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL
August 2, 2017
WHEREAS, it is customary for the Employee Forum to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the University community, so as to encourage similar achievement among the remainder of the community’s members; and
WHEREAS, Gena Carter, senior director for employee and management relations, has performed exemplary service to the University for 15 years while supporting staff across the University; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Carter has made it possible through her role as a liaison between staff representatives and the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Strategy, Equity and Engagement, and previous vice chancellors, for the Employee Forum to fulfill its mission to provide an effective two-way communication link between the Administration and the Employees; and
WHEREAS, she has consulted, supported, and provided indispensable and wise counsel to this Forum in her duties as Senior Director for Employee and Management Relations of our University; and,
WHEREAS, the impact she leaves on the Employee Forum and individual members of our staff will carry forward even upon her retirement from the University;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Employee Forum hereby confers lifelong honorary Delegate status upon Gena Carter, along with an open invitation to attend and participate in future deliberations of this body.
