WHEREAS, the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of the Employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and

WHEREAS, these concerns include the recognition of Employees who have distinguished themselves within the University community, so as to encourage similar achievement among the remainder of the community’s members; and

WHEREAS, these Employees have persevered in the spirit of these ideals to meet entrance and course requirements of reputable educational institutions throughout the State and Nation while balancing pressing responsibilities at home and in the workplace; and

WHEREAS, these Employees’ pursuit of knowledge and achievement has improved their usefulness, confidence and effectiveness within the University community; and

WHEREAS, these Employees have encouraged others to better themselves in light of their diligent example; and

WHEREAS, the example of these Employees resounds to the general good of the University community and all of its members by underscoring the enduring potential and importance of education as a means to advance the aspirations of all and each, and

WHEREAS, this hope for advancement is firmly grounded within the University’s history and Mission Statement, as well as the egalitarian traditions of this State;
