Resolution Honoring Robert A. Blouin, Provost of the University

 

RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM

THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL

January 5, 2022

 

WHEREAS, the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of the Employees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and

WHEREAS, these concerns include the recognition of individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to the University community, so as to encourage similar achievement among the remainder of the community’s members; and

WHEREAS, an individual among us has distinguished himself by exhibiting extraordinary resolve and commitment to the University community in his tenure as Provost, Executive Vice Chancellor, and Chief Academic Officer of the University; and

WHEREAS, during his stewardship as Provost, Robert A. Blouin has extended himself and the powers of his office to deepen relationships between students, faculty, and staff; and

WHEREAS, Provost Blouin has demonstrated the intelligence, dedication, loyalty, integrity, good humor, and accessibility that exemplify the ideal Tar Heel; and

WHEREAS, Provost Blouin has served the University faithfully and has shown decisive and courageous leadership in tackling the myriad challenges faced by the University as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic; and

WHEREAS, Provost Blouin has been a strong ally to the Forum, offering roundtable discussions on a wide range of topics at Forum meetings throughout the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Employee Forum extends its warm best wishes and thanks to Robert A. Blouin as he leaves his post as Provost of the University; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Forum offers Robert A. Blouin a standing invitation to meet and speak with this body moving forward.
