Concerning General Administration’s Committee for a New Human Resources System Design
RESOLUTION OF THE EMPLOYEE FORUM
THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL
March 7, 2007
WHEREAS the Mission of the Employee Forum is to address constructively the concerns of Employees of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including the representation of staff concerns to University officials, the University of North Carolina, the University of North Carolina General Administration and the North Carolina General Assembly; and
WHEREAS the University of North Carolina General Administration has solicited volunteers to serve on a committee for the design of a potentially new, university-only, human resources system; and
WHEREAS the Employee Forum considers the work of this committee to be of utmost importance to faculty, staff, and students; and
WHEREAS the Employee Forum also recognizes this occasion as an opportunity for building trust among all stakeholders; and
WHEREAS Forum Chair Ernie Patterson and Forum Vice-Chair David Brannigan have volunteered to serve on this committee; and
WHEREAS they are the two highest-elected leaders from among the staff; they serve on the UNC Staff Assembly; and they have a proven record of faithfully representing the views and interests of staff;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Employee Forum of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill respectfully requests that the Chancellor communicate to General Administration the desire of the Employee Forum that Mr. Patterson and Mr. Brannigan be invited to serve on this committee.
