2023-2024 Annual Report of the Employee Forum

The Employee Forum submitted its annual report to Chancellor Lee Roberts on Monday, October 21st. The document is available here.


Book Club Mtg on Sept 26th

The Employee Forum Book Club will read “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin at noon on Thursday, September 26th in 2005 Michael Hooker Research Center. Registration for the Book Club’s meeting includes lunch from the Picnic Basket. Register via this link here.  


Forum Meetings Now on First Friday Mornings

At its July 10 retreat business meeting, the Employee Forum voted to move its general meetings to the first Friday morning of every month, starting Friday, August 2nd. This change was undertaken in order to grant the Forum more flexibility to schedule in-person meetings throughout the year.

Mission

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Employee Forum is an organization of SHRA and EHRA non-faculty staff elected by their peers.  The Forum’s mission is to advocate for and constructively address the challenges, needs, and opportunities of UNC-Chapel Hill staff. It will:

  • Seek out the issues, interests, ideas, and participation of staff
  • Develop proactive, progressive recommendations to advise the Chancellor and their designees on University issues
  • Actively follow up with Administration to ensure recommendations are being implemented
  • Provide effective communication among all levels of staff, faculty, students, and the administration, while keeping staff informed about cross-campus initiatives
  • Foster and engage an open and positive environment throughout the University community
  • Support the University’s mission of teaching, research, and public service

The Employee Forum seeks to continually improve the quality of life at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for its Staff, Students, and Faculty through mutual understanding, recognition of Employee contributions and respect for the worth of the individual.
